Scutum® S

Inorganic Undercoating for use with Tersus® EN Photocatalyst Coatings.

The Scutum S acts as a thin membrane not to be decomposed by photocatalyst, and it has a role to protect the base material.  It is to be used as a protective layer for organic surfaces (such as paint) to prevent the substrate from experiencing oxidative decomposition. The Scutum S is not required for inorganic surfaces.

Description

  • High-purity silicic acid oligomer solution – To form a transparent and completely inorganic thin membrane of SiO2
  • Complete water base (No use of organic solvent) – pH7~8, safety of work
  • Transparent Liquid・Membrane – colorless and transparent, low reflectivity thin membrane
  • Hidrophilicity・Antifouling – It has many of Si-OH (Silanol group), and has high hidrophilicity.  It has a good adhesion to top coatings

 

Scutum® S is specifically designed to be used with the Tersus® EN photocatalyst coating.
